Today, the hubby and I while doing some quick errands before dinner with friends, took the long way home to see if we could spot and take photos of deer. They are abundant around us and they are such beautiful creatures. I love watching them! Our route took us to the Everett Covered Bridge area, along the river banks were we hike in the summer up river with Riley and slosh through the shallow swimming hole. Today it was all frozen and slushy, the sun streaming through the massive pines, and deer, deer, deer! I hopped out of the truck on the bridge to take a few shots of the frozen river beds, and hubby took off up the road leaving me there! :) (he did come back for me, LOL) Once we drove around the bend, there were deer everywhere. We knew that we would see them, in abundance, because it is a "bedding place" for them. They nest amongst the pines and brambly brush. Between us, we spotted at least 16 deer of all sizes. I was lucky to snap a photo where you can actually see them watching me--I was not too close, but the photo is a clear one!
