Ever have one of those days that you want to do nothing but clean and organize? Well, it seems that Thursday's are always the days that I get motivated to do just this! It is the day that the trash pick-up comes, and you would think that I would be motivated before then--the receptacles go out before the sun comes up, and I end up running all over the house just to see what else I can put into them!!! When I go on those cleaning out and recycle tangents, our trash dispensers are full by Sunday! Today is no different, I have made at least 1/2 dozen trips out to the curb with "just a little more". And about that cold...the temperature reads in the low 40's, HOWEVER, the wind is blustery, blowing hard, and cold, bringing the "feels like" wind chill temperature down into the 20"s! BRRRR....
For the organizing part of the deal, it stems from last night, when I was putting faces on 102 gingerbread men for a layout idea that I was working on! I am involved in a recipe swap, and December's theme is Christmas cookies, so I am doing gingerbread people. I actually changed from gumdrop cookies to gingerbread people because I got an idea in my head for the page, and it came together so cute--it always cracks me up that I will change what I am doing all because of scrapbooking ideas and supplies--never mind that the gumdrop cookies are much easier to make (did I mention that we also have to bake our recipes for this month's recipe swap?!) I saw cute paper and could not resist doing the gingerbread layout
Well anyway, I chalked the edges of 102 gingerbread men cut out from the Sizzix dies, put brads in for the eyes (that is 204 brads!!), paper punched 204 1/4" circles for their cheekies, and then paper punched 102 1/8" little hearts for their mouths! Now I am organizing my office space to make room to finish the rick rack trim...I started cutting the paper rick rack last night, to go on their arms and feet (that is 408 1-1/4" of hand-cut paper rick rack!!). Whew!
Add all that on to running the 204 cheeks into the little Xyron sticker maker, glue pen to the little hearts, and a comibination of Xyron and glue pen on the rick rack (different paper types), oops cannot forget--each little guy gets 2 cut out hearts as buttons and a hand-tied ribbon bowtie. I am going to be one busy girlie tonight! I have to get all of this organized so that my gingie's are all done by Friday so that I can put the 12x12 layout together! (this was in addition to the 10 8x8 layouts that I had to do for the recipe swap!)
Are there days when you get in over your head on the creativity? Are there days that you are always biting off more than you can chew? How about project overload? If so share them with me! Email your most "IN OVER MY HEAD" occurence, and I will post them on my blog---the one that we (me & my DH) deem the one most in over their heads will win a prize!
